Anna Basener

Anna Basener was born in Essen in 1983. Financed her studies in literary writing and pop culture in Hildesheim as Germany's most successful dime novelist. Writes books and radio plays, plays and screenplays. Her debut novel Als die Omma den Huren noch Taubensuppe kochte won the 2018 Putlitzer Prize and premiered as a musical comedy at Schauspiel Dortmund in 2019. Essays, columns, obituaries and reportages by Anna Basener have appeared in NEON, Business Punk and on ZEIT ONLINE. Her radio play Die juten Sitten shot to #1 on Audible overnight.
