Christiane Neudecker

Christiane Neudecker, who grew up in Nuremberg, studied theater directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and lives in Berlin as a freelance writer and graduate director. She has been a member of phase7 performing.arts since 2001 and has written the libretto for Himmelsmechanik - eine Entortung (world premiere Deutsche Oper Berlin) for the internationally working artists' collective. She has been awarded numerous literary prizes for her novels and short stories published by Luchterhand Literaturverlag. Her Sommernovelle, published in 2015, reached the SPIEGEL bestseller list, and her novel Der Gott der Stadt was nominated for the Uwe-Johnson-Preis in 2020. In 2021 Christiane Neudecker was a Storm writer for the Theodor Storm Society, and in 2022 her libretto for Chasing Waterfalls was premiered at the Semperoper Dresden and the New Vision Arts Festival Hong Kong.
