Martin Gessmann

Martin Gessmann, graduated in Philosophy, German Studies and Romance Studies from Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, including periods abroad in Nantes (western France) and Washington D.C. From 1991 to 1996, he worked for the German broadcaster SWR. Research assistant at Martin Luther University in Halle (1993 to 1995) and at Ruprecht Karls Universität Heidelberg (1996 to 1997). Stipend in Postdoctoral Studies from the German Research Association (1998), research assistant in Heidelberg (1999 to 2002), senior research fellow from 2003 to 2008. Fellow at Marsilius Kolleg of Heidelberg University from 2008 to 2009. Replacement for Prof. W. Neuser for the 2009 summer semester at Kaiserslautern Technical University. In June 2010 appointed University Professor at Ruprecht Karls University Heidelberg. Since October 2011 Professor of Cultural and Technology Theory and Aesthetics at HfG Offenbach. Editor of the Philosophische Rundschau since 2003. Member of the jury for the Raymond Aron Translation Award (from 2007 until 2013).
