Mascha Vassena

Mascha Vassena, née Kurtz, grew up in Würzburg, studied communication design, organised poetry slams, was co-editor of the literary magazine Fisch and worked in Hamburg as a freelance journalist and editor for Allegra and others. Her stories have appeared in Bella Triste, Macondo and Sukultur, among others. She received the Scholarship of the Akademie Schloss Solitude and the Hamburger Literaturförderpreis. Her collection of short stories Räuber und Gendarme was published in 2005 by Liebeskind, her five novels so far by Goldmann, Heyne fliegt und Piper. She lives near Lake Lugano.
