About us

Michael Gaeb Literary Agency represents German and international authors, mainly from Latin America, in and outside of Germany, and has been doing so since 2003. The agency also represents French, Hispanic and Italian publishers for the German market. We cover a broad spectrum of literary fiction, entertaining fiction, popular non-fiction and children’s books. We work together with all German publishing houses.

Michael Gaeb

Michael Gaeb, born in 1973, studied Comparative Literature and Philosophy in Bonn, Toulouse, Edinburgh and Berlin. From 1999 to 2001 he worked for different German and French Publishers, and in 2001 he became partner of a Literary Agency, until in 2003 he founded his own Agency. He was curator of the International Berlin Poetry Festival in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and was a fellow of the book fair in Frankfurt (2002) and in Jerusalem (2007).

Eva Semitzidou

Eva Semitzidou, born in 1980, studied French and Spanish literature as well as theatre-, film- and media science at the universities of Frankfurt am Main and Lyon. After her studies, she intensified her education by successfully completing the course "Buch- und Medienpraxis" at Goethe-University in Frankfurt, which focused on a more practical approach on books and media. Before joining Literarische Agentur Michael Gaeb in 2008, she worked at the cultural department of Goethe-Institut in Athens, the editorial office of Arte and several publishing houses.

Elisabeth Botros

Elisabeth Botros, born in 1989, studied creative writing, philosophy and comparative literature in Hildesheim, Katmandu and Berlin. She is one of the founders of the reading series "U30 Lesung - Neue Literatur für Berlin". In 2014 she joined Literarische Agentur Michael Gaeb.

Bettina Wißmann

Bettina Wißmann, born in 1974, studied law and worked at Komische Oper Berlin and Berliner Ensemble as a jurist and managing director respectively, just bevor joining Literarische Agentur Michael Gaeb in June 2014. She gained an inside into the publishing industry through various working experiences, for example at Bettina Schrewe Literary Scouting (New York), at Perseus Books Group (Boston) or Eichborn Berlin Verlag. At Literarische Agentur Michael Gaeb she is responsible for contracts and licences.

Andrea Vogel

Andrea Vogel, born in 1986, studied comparative literature, Italian and cultural anthropology in Mainz and Perugia. Before joining Literarische Agentur Michael Gaeb in May 2014, she worked in the editorial office and public relations department of serveral publishers, like Verlag Klaus Wagenbach and Verlag diaphanes.
