Hildegard E. Keller

Hildegard Keller is a writer, literary critic and literary scholar. She was on the jury of the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt (2009 – 2019) and a member of the Literature Club on Swiss television (2012 – 2019). While completing her degrees in sociology and in German and Spanish languages and literatures, she began writing and producing theatrical and graphic works. She has been Professor of literature at the University of Zurich since 2011, where she now teaches multimedia storytelling (zurichstories.org). She lived in the United States for ten years and taught at Indiana University Bloomington. Since returning to Zurich, she has worked as a freelance writer and as the publisher of Editions Maulhelden. Her documentary film, Whatever Comes Next, was screened at numerous festivals and broadcast on German television. Her radio play The Hour of the Dog was nominated for the German Audiobook Prize in 2009. What We Seem is her first novel (Eichborn, 2021).
