Andreas Resch

Born in Mainz and raised near Wiesbaden, Andreas Resch studied German language and literature, philosophy, general and comparative literature, and applied literary studies in Mainz and Berlin. He then worked as a film and literary critic, primarily for the taz newspaper. His work has been published in DIE ZEIT, NZZ, Tagesspiegel, and numerous publications by the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Goethe Institute. Between 2008 and 2011, Andreas studied screenwriting at the DFFB. Between 2012 and 2016, he was a screenwriter for the ZDF Friday evening series Letzte Spur Berlin together with Christoph Callenberg. Since 2016, he has been teaching screenwriting at the FU Berlin. From 2017 to 2020, he worked on his feature debut Marlene as writer and director, which was released on Amazon Prime Video after an extensive festival and cinema tour, including numerous international awards. In 2022, Andreas and Christoph Callenberg published the novel Finstermoor with Storytel. Since 2023, he has been a member of the selection committee at the Slamdance Film Festival in Los Angeles. He lives with his wife and son in Falkensee near Berlin.
