Annabelle Hirsch

Annabelle Hirsch is German-French. She studied art history, theatre studies and philosophy at the LMU in Munich and the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris. Writes for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, Die Zeit, Weltkunst and several other German and Swiss magazines about art, literature, feminism or, as in her taz columns Air de Paris and La Strada, about everyday life in Paris and Rome. Occasionally works as a literary translator. Writes short stories, preferably about sea creatures and grief. Her book Die Dinge. A History of Women in 100 Objects was published in 2022 by Kein und Aber Verlag, in winter 2024 it was awarded the Openbook Prize in Taiwan. In 2023 her book Der Teller was published by Residenz Verlag.
