Barbara Zeman
Barbara Zeman, born 1981 in Eisenstadt/Burgenland, lives in Vienna. Studied history. Journalist (including Falter, Die Presse), waitress in Viennese clubs, breakfast cook at Café Jelinek. 2019 Debut novel Immerjahn (Hoffmann und Campe, Hamburg). 2020 Founding of the feminist-antifascist literary show Der Großartige Zeman Stadlober Leseklub. Cooperations with the Austrian Exile Library, Burgtheater and Hauptverband des Österreichischen Buchhandels (HVB). Since 2022 literary revue The Night with Clemens J. Setz.
Awards: 2012 Literature Prize Wartholz, the Literature Prize of the Province of Burgenland and 3rd place in the Literature Competition of the Academy Graz. 2022 Participation in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition. 2023 Theodor Kery Prize.
