Christina Berndt

Christina Berndt was born in 1969. After her studies in Biochemistry in Hannover, she graduated at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. As a science journalist, she writes about medicine and research on behalf of German newspapers such as Spiegel, Deutsche Presseagentur and Süddeutsche Zeitung. Since 2000, Berndt is editor at Süddeutsche Zeitung. In 2006 she received the European Science Writers Junior Award. For her report on organ donation, she received the Wächterpreis 2013. Her book on resilience was published in 2013 and became a best- and longseller. She was also nominated for the Henri Nannen Award in 2013 and was voted one of the top three Science Journalists of the Year. In 2017 she was nominated for the German Reporter Award. In 2018 she received the Karl-Buchrucker-Prize. Berndt's books have been translated into numerous languages.
