Christina Berndt
Dr. Christina Berndt works as an author, journalist and speaker on topics from psychology, medicine and life sciences. She has been a member of the editorial staff of the Süddeutsche Zeitung since March 2000. She studied biochemistry in Hannover and Witten/Herdecke and did research at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. For her doctoral thesis, she received the Doctoral Award of the German Society for Immunology. Her journalistic work has also received numerous awards. Among others, she received the European Science Writers Award in 2006, the Watchdog Award of the Daily Press in 2013 for the revelations of the transplantation scandals, and the Honorary Award of the German Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in 2019 for sustained good reporting on mental health. She has also been named among the Science Journalists of the Year several times, most recently ranking #1 in 2021. Her books on Resilienz, Zufriedenheit und Individuation have been bestsellers and translated into numerous languages.
