Elma Correa Neri

Elma Correa, born 1980 in Mexicali, where she still lives, is a fiction writer. She coordinates the international writers’ conference Tiempo de Literatura UABC in Baja California and runs @habitaciones_propias, a virtual community where women from around the world share the spaces in which they create. She holds a BA in Hispanic American Language and Literature, an MA in Sociocultural Studies, and a PhD in Society, Space, and Power. Her books include Que parezca un accidente (Nitro/Press, 2018); Mentiras que no te conté (UDG, 2021), which received the 20th Juan José Arreola National Short Story Prize; Llorar de fiesta (BUAP, 2022); Lo simple (INBAL, 2023), winner of the Bellas Artes San Luis Potosí Amparo Dávila Short Story Prize; La novia del león (Nitro/Press, 2024); and the novel Donde termina el verano (Seix Barral, 2026), winner of the Biblioteca Breve Prize.
