Frank Willmann

Frank Willmann, born in Weimar in 1963, left for West Berlin in 1984, lives in Berlin. Several literary titles on research on the Berlin Wall, the cultural history of German soccer, and subcultures in the former GDR. Recent publications include Der Pate von Neuruppin (Tropics, 2023). He has been editor of the Icons series at the publishing house Voland & Quist since 2023.
Willmann has included various prizes, research commissions (Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship) and grants (Stiftung Kulturfonds, Ministry of Culture Thuringia, Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, Künstlerhof Röderhof, Hauptstadtkulturfonds, etc.). He writes or has written for various media such as Tagesspiegel, 11Freunde, Fluter, Zeit-Online, Spiegel, Freitag, Zeitspiel, Berliner Verlag, nd.
