Jum Ko Ogata Aguilar
Jumko Ogata Aguilar is a writer, translator, and antiracism educator from Xalapa, Mexico. She holds a bachelor’s in Latin American Studies from UNAM and is a 2025 Ford Global Fellow. Her books include ¡Quiero ser antirracista! (Grijalbo, 2025) and the bilingual children’s book Mi Pelo Chino (Spanish and Mixteco; Almadía, 2023). She has contributed to anthologies such as Tsunami 2 (Sexto Piso, 2020; Engl. by Feminist Press), Daughters of Latin America (HarperCollins, 2023), and Cabezas en la ventana (Elefanta, 2024). She translated the Spanish edition of Bell Hooks’ Sisters of the Yam (U-tópicas ediciones, 2024) and has led antiracism and Afro-Mexican history workshops for Harvard, UNAM, Google, and other institutions in Mexico and the US.
