Kaleb Erdmann
Kaleb Erdmann was born in 1991 in Witten an der Ruhr and grew up in Bayreuth, Erfurt and, above all, Munich. Today he is a freelance author, playwright and stage poet.
He studied literary writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig, as well as Political Science and Political Theory in Munich and Frankfurt am Main. Since his early youth, Kaleb Erdmann has appeared as a stage poet.
He has published numerous short texts, e.g. in the text collection Herz & Rasen edited by Saša Stanišić, the literary magazine Akzente, Tippgemeinschaft, and various spoken word anthologies.
He is a writer for various television and entertainment formats, such as the satirical shows Till Reiner's Happy Hour (3Sat), Clinch - mit Jean-Philippe Kindler (WDR) or One Mic Stand (Amazon Video). For the Kinderkanal he wrote scripts for the youth show Tick Tack - Zeitreise mit Lisa und Lena.
In 2020, he was nominated for the Retzhofer Dramapreis with his play Unten. The following year he was finalist of the open mike - competition for young literature.
For his novel project wir sind pioniere he received the 360°-scholarship of the city of Düsseldorf in 2022, where he lives and works.
