Laura Baeza

Laura Baeza, born in 1988 in Campeche, is a Mexican writer of short stories and novels. She won the Julio Torri National Short Story Award in 2017, organised by Tierra Adentro, with her collection Ensayo de orquesta (FETA, 2017), and later received the Gerardo Cornejo National Narrative Award for her book Época de cerezos. In 2018, the Guadalajara International Book Fair selected her for the programme Al ruedo: ocho talentos mexicanos (In the Ring: Eight Mexican Talents) as one of the most promising new narrative voices. She is the editor of the anthology Mexicanas. Trece narrativas contemporáneas (Fondo Blanco, 2021), and her work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies in Mexico and abroad. Alongside her fiction writing, she also works in editing and content creation.
