Mercedes Lauenstein
Mercedes Lauenstein, born 1988 in Kappeln, lives in Munich. Since 2009 she has been working in the editorial department of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. She writes essays and reportages as a freelance author for various newspapers and magazines. Her literary debut Nachts was published by Aufbau Verlag in 2015, followed by the novel Blanca in 2018. In 2016 she received the Scholarship of the Berlin Senate at the Literary Colloquium Berlin and the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in the field of literature. In 2019 she was invited to be a writer in residence at Art Omi / Ledig House in Ghent, Upstate New York.
