Özlem Özgül Dündar

Özlem Özgül Dündar, born 1983, studied Literature and Philosophy in Wuppertal and spent time in Ireland, Turkey and France. She worked as a free journalist for Federwelt Magazine. She studied Creative Writing at the Deutsche Literaturinstitut Leipzig. Dündar writes poetry, prose, scenic texts, essays, performs with her collectives Kanak Attak Leipzig and the Ministry for Compassion and is active as an editor and translator. She has received numerous grants and award nominations, including the Wolfgang-Weyrauch-Förderpreis in 2015. In 2015, she was awarded the Retzhofer Dramapreis for her play Jardin d'Istanbul. In 2018, Dündar read her text and I burn at the invitation of Insa Wilke at the Days of German-Language Literature, She received the Kelag Prize in Klagenfurt and the Rolf Dieter Brinkmann Scholarship 2018.
