Peter Neumann
Peter Neumann, born 1987 in Neubrandenburg, studied philosophy, politics and economics in Jena and Copenhagen. He received his doctorate in 2017 on Schelling's World Age Fragments and the question of time in Kant's work. Neumann's literary work as a poet has received several awards, including the Scholarship of the Free State of Thuringia 2012, the Förderpreis des Jungen Literaturforums 2008 and 2009, and the Eobanus-Hessus-Preis der Stadt Erfurt 2008. His poetry collection geheuer was published in spring 2014. In 2018 his narrative nonfiction book Jena 1800, The Republic of Free Spirits was celebrated by the press and became a SPIEGEL bestseller. Rights to the book were sold to several countries. Neumann teaches philosophy at the University of Oldenburg.
