Ronya Othmann
Ronya Othmann, born 1993, has been studying at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig since 2014. She writes poetry, prose and essays and works as a journalist for Der Spiegel, taz or ZEIT Online, among others. She has published poetry and short prose in numerous magazines and anthologies. In 2015 she organized the Kurdish Film Days in Leipzig and in 2018 she was on the jury of the International Film Festival Duhok in the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq. At the invitation of Insa Wilke, Ronya Othmann took part in the 2019 Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in Klagenfurt and read her text Seventy-four there, for which she received the Audience Prize.
