Sonja Heiss
Sonja Heiss, born 1976 in Munich, graduated from the University of Television and Film Munich. Hotel Very Welcome, her first feature film, premiered at the Berlinale 2007, won numerous awards and screened at festivals worldwide. Her second feature film Hedi Schneider steckt fest was nominated for the German Film Award in the category Screenplay and won in the category Best Leading Role. Sonja Heiss was a Villa Aurora scholarship holder. In 2011, her highly acclaimed short story collection Das Glück geht aus was published by Berlin Verlag. Rimini, her first novel, was critically acclaimed and was on the SPIEGEL bestseller list.
