Stefan Weidner

Stefan Weidner, born in Cologne in 1967, studied Islamic Studies, Philosophy and German in Göttingen, Damascus, Berkeley and Bonn. From 2001 to 2016 he was editor-in-chief of the cultural journal Art & Thought/Fikrun wa Fann. For his work, he has received the Clemens Brentano Prize, the Johann Heinrich Voß Prize, and the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding, among others. He has written numerous well-received non-fiction books. Stefan Weidner lives in Cologne.
