Ursula Kirchenmayer

Ursula Kirchenmayer was born in Lugoj, Romania in 1984 and lives in Munich. She studied German and Hispanic Studies in Potsdam and Lima, Peru and Creative Writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig.
She organized the series of events I wish I were interested in tennis at the Volksbühne Berlin on young contemporary political literature, sponsored by the Berlin Senate.
In 2012, she won the second prize in the 17th MDR Literary Competition and the Newcomer Prize of the Young Publishing People. In 2014 she was awarded the first prize at the Prenzlauer Berg Literary Competition. Her texts have published in numerous magazines and anthologies as well as on radio, including BELLA triste, poet, STILL and swr2.
